Hello Quilters and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I hope this holiday season will be all you want it to be and that you get to share it with your family. My son and his wife are expecting their first baby any day now, just counting the minutes until the new arrival!!!! My daughter is here for the day and we will be getting together with the rest of the family for a non-traditional dinner of my husband's homemade chilli!

Check out the fabrics, I have added some new fabrics from the Aster Manor and Close to My Heart lines. I have also added some new wide backs from the Aster Manor line that are really beautiful fabrics.

I am currently in the midst of the Christmas quilting rush and haven't had a lot of time to update the site, but I will try to do better ! There will be a couple of new block of the month programs that will be starting after the first of the year, Vintage Memories and American Beauty, check back for more details. I am also now on Facebook so check me out there too!

Hello Quilters!

The holidays are fast approaching, can't believe it's that time of year again! I always heard people say that the older you get the faster the year passes, I must be getting pretty old, this year passed so fast I can hardly remember it!

I have some new fabrics for you to check out, Wiscasset by Minick & Simpson, Alliance by Howard Marcus, Vine Creek by Kansas Troubles and Blessings by Brannock and Patek. Coming this week I should have Renounneries from French General so check back by the end of the week.

My website maintenance man is working on updating my site with some new features so be sure to sign up for my newsletter. Once the new site is online I will be sending out monthly newsletters with special sale advertisements and promotional codes for discounts, so sign up soon!

I have one quilt show left for the 2009 season and that is A Symphony of Quilts in Gainesville, Texas, November 13-14th. No more shows until January of 2010 so that leaves extra time for all that Christmas quilting! My son and daughter-in-law are expecting their first baby the week of Thanksgiving, we are all soooo excited! They have chosen not to find out what it is in advance, "just like in the old days" as he tells me, so we will have an additional family member to be thankful for this season! We will be traveling to Virginia the first week of December to see the new edition (and the parents) and we can't wait!

Hello Quilters!!!!

Summer has come and gone and before you know it Christmas will be here soon! I purchased a new quilt machine at the end of June and have been spending a lot of time trying to train it to do what I want, have had some really frustrating days but it seems that we are going to be friends after all! The September Shop Hop is over and winners will be announced soon, and the October Shop Hop is well under way! I have extended the free shipping for orders over $50.00 through the month of October.

I still have four openings for the new digital Block of the Month Program by Moda, Greenpiece. It is a 76x76 quilt and includes fabrics from the Aster Manor line by 3 Sisters, Collections for a Cause-Alliance by Howard Marcus, Vine Creek by Kansas Troubles, Blessings by Brannock & Patek and Close to My Heart by Laundry Basket Quilts. All very beautiful fabrics with the option of wool applique' for the alternate blocks or machine embroidery. I am sending out the first shipment of fabrics this week with the remainder to be shipped later in the month once I receive them. My shop sample is almost complete and it is absolutely beautiful! The prices and other particulars are listed on the site in the BOM-Kits section.

Also in the BOM-Kits section you can find my 4-Patch Frolic Block of the month. This is a twelve month program that started in August but there are still three spots remaining if you want to play with us. The first month will include the setting kit and the first month's block, each additional block will be shipped during the third week of each month thereafter. Each month's block is a basic four patch block, you will make four of them and then put them together for a finished block. How you twist and turn your four blocks will determine the look of the finished block! Super easy, great for beginner quilters wanting to do a block of the month program. The applique pieces are optional, if you choose to do them, you will notice that they are large and not very detailed which again makes this BOM beginner friendly.

I am still working on photographing my kit samples and hope to have some new kits to add to the site so be sure to check back!

I've been going to the Quilting House in Breckenridge on the fourth Tuesday of each month with a Mystery Demo and that has been going really well, so if you are in that area during that time, be sure to stop and and visit with us! My last visit for the year is October. I will be concentrating on finishing up some quilts for customers and will be returning to the Fourth Tuesday visit in January, 2010.

Both of the Day and Night retreats have come and gone and great fun was had by all as well as beautiful new quilts! The variations in color in these quilts are remarkable! If you haven't got the book, Day & Night, by Eleanor Burns, you need to get it, trust me, it is a lot of fun and easy to do! The finished product is very striking.

Fall Market is fast approaching and I'm so excited!!!! It's always fun to see the designers and the new things for spring!

After I return from Market I will still have one show remaining - November 13-14 - A Symphony of Quilts - Gainesville, Texas. Still in the process of getting shows lined up for 2010 (which is just around the corner!).

Hello Quilters!!!!

It's been a fast and furious summer here in the big City!!!! Lots of quilt shows, one retreat down and one to go and of course....lots of quilting!!! I hope you all have had a great summer with family, friends and activities! I had some issues with my site in the early part of May which resulted in being down and not completely functional. However, all issues have been resolved and we are up and running at full capacity again!

Hello Quilters!!!!

I hope everyone is having a productive Spring/Summer and all is going well. There are lots of new fabrics on line, including the new Christmas line from Robyn Pandolph by RJR, Rose de Noel, really pretty colors and florals.

The new Kansas Winter by Kansas Trouble Quilts is now on line and so are kits for their patterns, Snowy Day and Chance of Flurries. I'm always adding new patterns here and there as I find them and if you are looking to purchase a book that works like magic, be sure to check out the newest release from Eleanor Burns, Day & Night. A very striking quilt with the appearance of paper piecing with the ease of strip piecing. Even if you are a beginner, you can do this project!

Moda has introduced a Block of the Month Program this year, Greenpiece. Hello Quilters!!!

Hope your spring has been spring-ie and full of quilting! It's been busy here and new Christmas fabrics have been gradually coming in and they are beautiful! Currently I have received the Kansas Winter line by Kansas Troubles and a couple Frosted Memories snowflake backqrounds. Coming soon will be the Winter Song and Glace lines from Moda and Robyn Pandolph's Rose de Noel, an absolutely gorgeous line of fabrics!

I will be posting a couple of new Block of the Months in the next few weeks and participation space will be limited so sign up quick! One will be a three color block of the months entitled Four Patch Posie starting in July and will be $10.00 a month plus setting fabrics. The other will be the new block of the month from Moda entitled Greenpiece. It is a sampler with wool applique. You will purchase all the fabrics for this quilt the first month, and each month for the next twelve months I will email the pattern to you. This quilt uses 35 different fabrics, simple piecing and applique and a beautiful result! The exact cost has not yet been determined but should be somewhere around $180.00. The fabrics for this quilt will ship half in September and the remaining half in October, and the first block will email in September.

The fall lines from Moda are wonderful, as usual, and I have ordered new fabrics from Fig Tree Quilts, French General, and Minick and Simpson, all which will start arriving in September, can't wait!

We will be making the black and white version of the quilt as shown on the book cover and you will have your choice of color pops, red, yellow, green, turquoise or hot pink. Hello Quilters!!!!

I Hope everyone has had a great first quarter and let me appologize for the delay in keeping things updated!!! It's been a productive and busy first quarter and I have neglected my site!

The Heart of Texas Quilt Show in Brownwood, Texas was a big event with Debbie Maddy of Calico Carriage Designs being present to conduct workshops and present a lecture! This show is a viewer's choice show and I was especially excited when a quilt that I entered was selected as "Best of Show". The picture herein is a picture of that quilt. It is entitled "Summers Basket of Flowers" and it is a convenience quilt with McTavishing style quilting to enhance the preprinted design.

I have addes some new fabrics, jelly rolls and the new honey buns from the Glory, Zippty Doo Dah and Hello Betty lines from Moda to the Fabric Section and lots of new cute wearable, tote bags and quilt patterns, along with some new notions, be sure to browse through and see the new stuff!!!!

In the next few weeks I will have some new kits to add to the site so be sure to check back!

Hello Quilters!!! Happy New Year!!!!!

Another year has come and gone and what a fantastic year it was! I was able to quit my full time job and quilt on a full time basis, vend at quilt show and expand my quilting friend base, it has been a wonderful year!!

The holidays are over and the kids have all gone home :(, but it was fun while it lasted. My grandbabies were here Thanksgiving and if all works with this email, their picture should be attached, they are just too much fun!!!!

I have free shipping through the month January for orders over $50.00 and lots of clearance and sale items to clear out my inventory and make room for some new things!!!

To those of you who are doing my Seasonal Mystery Block of the Month - I'm sorry about December's block, I got too busy trying to get the Christmas quilting crunch complete and wasn't able to get the block cut and mailed. I will send December's block with January's.

Beginning in January, I will be teaching the "Quilt of the Month" class at the Quilting House in Breckenridge, Texas on the fourth Tuesday of each month. We will kick off the year with an Eleanor Burns Victory Quilts Trunk Show, no fee is required to attend in January, it will be $10.00 a class plus materials for each month thereafter. A schedule of activities for the year will be available at the first gathering, should be loads of fun, if you are in the area please drop by and enjoy the day with us!

Hello Quilters!!!!

It's been a while since I last checked in, I apologize for that, as usual, things have been really busy!

The trip to Kansas to see the grandbabies was wonderful, they are tooooo cute!!!! The one year old is just starting to walk and the two year old is just starting to talk well enough to carry on a conversation and repeat everything!

Lots of new things, Portabello Market by 3 Sisters, Fig Plum by Fig Tree Designs and Woodland Bloom, a very "happy" fabric that would be perfect for a Stacked 4-Patch Posie!

I have the Merry Go Round Pattern by American Jane which is a hexagon quilt made from three jelly rolls, no "y" seams and easy, easy, easy!!! I have a kit and the pattern and a 6-1/2", sixty decee triangle ruler that will be a definite plus in making this quilt top easy!

I have added a couple of new sub-categories, Jelly Rolls and Kits & Bundles. All available jelly rolls will be in the fabric section as well as the Jelly Roll section and all kits, fat quarter bundles, charm packs and layer cakes will be in the fabric section as well as the Kits & Bundles section. My hope is to make your shopping easier!

The quilts shows have been very nice and some extremely beautiful quilts at each one. I will be heading to Stephenville this weekend and then on to Canton on October 17-18 AND THEN, MARKET!!!!! NEW STUFF!!!! YIPPEEE!!!

Hello Quilters!!!!

It's been a while since I last checked in, I apologize for that, things have been really busy!

The Summer Retreat '08 has come and gone and was a ton of fun! Check out the Summer Retreat '08 photos in the Quilt Gallery. I have added a few new quilt photos to the quilt gallery as well.

Lots of new things, Merry & Bright by Sandy Gervais, Isn't Christmas Jolly by Mary Englebreit, Winter and some new wide backs from the Peace On Earth line by 3 Sisters. The gold in this line is absolutely gorgeous!!! There are some new patterns and new books as well.

I finally have the Fashion Cut scissors in, they are really cute!! Bright colored handles with coordinating brightly printed blades, great for that secret sister gift or stocking stuffer (never too early for Christmas planning) for that quilter you know!

I have several fabrics on sale in the fabric section, be sure to scroll through and browse!

I will be teaching a class at The Quilting House in Breckenridge on August 16th, the Tossed 9-Patch from Eleanor Burns, super quick, super easy and pretty to look at!

Hello Quilters!!!!

It's been busy in the big city!!! The Second Saturday Summer Clearance Sale (say that 3 times fast) made for a busy day and helped clear out inventory and make room for some new fabrics that should be arriving in the next week or so!

Check out the book section for some new books, Big Blocks, Big Quilts and Double Dipping from the author of the Turning Twenty series. Very nice quilts and other projects included in each one.

The count-down to the retreat is here, I think I have everything ready to take, as long as I don't forget any of it (that's what the to-do list is for)! I'm getting so excited!!!

Hello Quilters!

Happy Independence Week!! June came and went so fast, I'm not sure I remember what happened!!! The Shop Hop was fabulous and kept me "hopping"!!! My grandbabies, Brooklyn and Jordyn, were here this past weekend and things were really hopping!!!

Check out the pattern section for new patterns from Pieces from My Heart and Teacher's Pet, great looking quilts with a small time investment!

The Summer Retreat '08 is full and just around the corner, I'm so excited, can't wait to get there!!!

I will be having a SECOND SATURDAY SUMMER CLEARANCE SALE on JULY 12th, in house only, so if you are in the neighborhood, please stop in! Selected fabrics will be $4.00 a yard with other sales also!

I am scheduled to be in Breckenridge at The Quilting House, August 18th, to teach the Tossed 9-Patch pattern by Eleanor Burns. This is a quick and easy pattern using charm packs and additional yardage to create a scrappy quilt. The sample I made took approximately four hours from start to finish for a lap size quilt!

It's been a busy week here in the big metropolis but fun!

Check out the fabric section, lots of new pretties!!!!! I have received pieces of the Peace On Earth line by Three Sisters for the holidays, rich, yummy colors!!!! A kit is also available for this line. Also I have added Peacock Paradise, a beautiful line of batiks!!!!!

Retreat Plans Finalized and NEW PATTERNS!

Hello Quilters!

Check out the pattern section of the site, I have added several new patterns that are jelly roll, charm pack and fat quarter friendly! Take a close look at the Tossed Nine Patch by Eleanor Burns. The pattern has the fabric requirements for a lap, twin, queen and king size quilts. You can put it together as shown on the pattern cover or add sashing and corner stones for a bit larger quilt and it also includes instructions for adding an additional border from a charm pack. I made the blocks for a demonstration at our guild meeting and was just going to make enough to demo the technique, but it was so fast and fun that I did them all in about an hour and a half! This would make a nice quick and easy gift!

The plans for the retreat have been finalized. Due to a conflict in scheduling, I had to change the dates to July 18, 19, and 20. It will be held at the Quilt Inn in Granbury and the cost will be $180.00 per person. The quilt we will be making is the Stacked 4-Patch Posey with a Twist! The fee includes room, meals and your kit for the quilt. You have the option for your quilt to be spring colors or fall colors, fabrics and prints may vary. Space is limited, email me if you are interested and I will get you signed up!

The next big event for me is the Stars Over Texas Quilt Show in Abilene, Texas. I have been attending this show as a "viewer" for several years and it is always a very nice show. Lots of quilts and good vendors! If you happen to be in the area, drop in and say hello!!

Still planning a big in-store sale for the month of July. Lots of things will be on sale and whatever else I decide to do at the time!

Hello Quilters!!!!!

Just checking in again to let you know "What's New"! Just recently added Birchwood Lane, a Christmas line by Holly Taylor for Moda. Yummy browns, tans and deep, deep reds! Gorgeous!

I will be traveling to Marble Falls to present a program on Three Dimensional Applique for their quilt guild and then on to Abilene the first weekend in June for the Stars Over Texas Quilt Show! Should be a great show, if you're in the area, stop in for a treat!

I will be hosting a Mystery Retreat the first weekend in August at the Granbury Inn in Grandbury, more details to follow.

The month of July will find a Semi-Annual Sale at the store, lots of items on sale and the newest Christmas lines will be here to drool over! Drop in if you're in town!

The site will be hosting it's first Fab Shop Hop in June, any purchases made through the site during the month of June will have NO SHIPPING!!!!

Hello Quilters!!!!! I hope all has been going well for each of you since the last time I checked in! It's been a while since I checked in, I have been really busy with quilting and with the chairperson duties for the Heart of Texas Quilt Show 2008. It was a huge success and we will begin making plans in the next few days for the 2009 show. Please check my Quilt Gallery in the next few days for pictures of the winning quilts at the show!

There are several new fabrics added to the site, Fresh Squeezed by Sandy Jarvis, Hemming House and Prairie Paisley...my all time favorite!!!! I have put some more items on sale, some are in the clearance section and some are just mingled in with the regular items. I also have the Summer's Basket of Flowers quilt kit. I have it quilted and it will be on the gallery in the next day or so.

I have the "Pieces of Texas" pattern for those who have seen the Texas! quilt and inquired about the pattern. If you haven't seen the quilt, check it out in the gallery!

PRAIRIE PAISLEY!!!!

Hello Quilters!!!!!

The site has two new lines from Moda, Prairie Paisley by Minick and Simpson and Posh by Chez Moi. The Prairie Paisley is a red, white, tan, blue and navy line with a small patriotic flare. A new pattern made from this line, Chippewa Nine Patch, has also been added as well as a kit prepared for the Chippewa Nine Patch pattern. There will be a block of the month using this fabric line beginning in July.

The Posh line is a bigger, bolder print but in the spring time pastels. There are jelly rolls and fat quarter bundles available as well. Both of these lines are extremely delish!!!!

There are some new wearable patterns and a couple of new quilt patterns, so don't forget to check them out!

I will be in Caldwell on Thursday, March 26th, to do an Eleanor Burns Trunk Show for their quilt guild, I'm so excited, the trunk shows are always a lot of fun!

Hello Quilters!

It's been a great week, this was my last week at my full time job--yipppeee!!!! I am now full time self-employed and it's great!!!!!

Look in the "Fabric" section and see the new Mary Englebreit fabrics, Friends and Flowers, and the new line for the spring from Three Sisters, Simplicity. All the fabrics are listed alphabetically by the line name. The kits are under the Fabric section and beging with "kit" followed by the name of the kit. There are a few new patterns in the quilt section and in the wearables. If there is something you are looking for but can't find, e-mail me and I will help you if I can!

Next week (March 8-9) I will be at the Lampasas Quilt Show in Lampasas, Texas. If you are in the area, stop in and say hello! It is a small quilt show as well as a needle art and craft show. Zell Cook from the Marble Falls area will be the featured demonstrator at the show and she will be demonstrating fabric paiting for quilts. Very impressive and very nice!

Hi Everyone! Hope you are having a great day! We are still working diligently to get the inventory loaded onto our site and new products will continue to be added weekly until it's all there, its been a more time consuming process than expected and we appreciate your patience while we get it in gear.

We have two block of the month programs starting this year. The first one will begin in March and it is "Raspberry Truffles". It is a seven month BOM made from the Charleston IV collection by Judy Rothmell for Marcus Brothers. The first month will include the borders and extra yardage required and the following months will be a charm pack and pattern. You can find this program information in the "Fabrics" category.

The other program will begin in June. It is a Marti Michell pattern made from the new Prairie Paisley line by Minick & Simpson for Moda. It will require the "M" set of templates by Marti Michell. This will be available as kit or a block of the month program. You can find this program information in the "Fabrics" category also.

We have several events scheduled for the first six months of this year. If you are in any of the following areas, please stop at the quilt shows, we would love to meet you!

Hello! Welcome to Quilts With A Heart located in the “big” city of Priddy, Texas. We specialize in machine custom quilting, piecing and binding and strive to provide you with a superior product.
We are in the sixth year of machine quilting for the public and have reached the point that we felt we needed to expand into the internet world! This site is still “under construction” and we hope that you will check back with us and watch our progress as we continue to grow. We will be adding some fabrics, kits, patterns, notions and block of the month programs within the next few weeks as well as photographs of quilts that we have completed.
